1 – An introduction to the history of La Mare Wine Estate.

La Mare Wine Estate has a rich history dating back to the 12th century, when it was a working farm. Over the centuries, the estate has been home to a number of different owners and has been used for a variety of purposes, including as a monastery, a cider mill, and a dairy farm. In the 1970s, the current owners began to plant vines on the estate, and La Mare Wine Estate was born. Today, the estate produces a range of award-winning wines, ciders, and spirits, and is a popular destination for visitors to Jersey.

2 – A guided tour of the vineyards and orchards.

One of the highlights of the Tour & Tasting Experience at La Mare Wine Estate is the guided tour of the vineyards and winery. You’ll learn about the history of the estate, the different grape varieties grown on site, and the winemaking process from start to finish. 

3 – A visit to the winery.

A behind-the-scenes look at the winery, where the grapes are turned into delicious wines and spirits. Here you will watch a little film that shows you the different stages of grape growth and explains how the grapes are harvested and processed. 

4 – A tasting of the estate’s award-winning wines.

You will also have the opportunity to sample some of the estate’s award-winning wines. From a crisp white to a full-bodied red, there is something to suit every palate. During the tasting, a knowledgeable guide will talk you through the different wines, explaining the grape varieties used and the winemaking process. You’ll also learn how to properly taste wine, picking up tips on how to identify different aromas and flavours. It’s a fun and educational experience that wine lovers won’t want to miss.

5 – A chance to see the production kitchen and sample the estate’s homemade produce.

In addition to sampling the delicious wines, visitors on the Experience at La Mare Wine Estate will also have the opportunity to try the estate’s homemade chocolate, fudge and Jersey Black Butter. Made using the finest ingredients, these treats are the perfect accompaniment to the wines and are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

6 – A visit to the distillery to learn about the production of spirits.

In addition to the vineyards and winemaking process, visitors will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the distillery where the estate’s spirits are produced. From the copper stills to the oak barrels, guests will learn about the traditional methods used to create the estate’s award-winning brandy, gins, and liqueurs. And of course, no visit to the distillery would be complete without a tasting of their Apple Brandy Cream.

Upgrade and enjoy a spirit with a mixer (choose one to enjoy from La Mare’s range of vodka, gins, brandy or sparkling wine) to sip at the end of the tour in the stunning garden room overlooking the estate gardens and traditional manor house.
