Meet the WineMaker Tour
An intimate tour of the winery and 2-way conversation with the winemaker with wine-flight, grazing platters and more.
This exclusive experience is a fantastic way to experience La Mare Wine Estate’s Winery and Distillery. With a limit of 12 people it is ideal for those that have a more-than-average interest in wine and how it is made. Each tour will take a deep dive into the winemaking process, a look at the equipment that is used, and will include a wine tasting flight with the winemaker. The tour is “conversational” so attendees get all their wine questions answered by the pros. It’s as entertaining as it is educational.
A Warm Welcome Awaits
Upon arriving at the vineyard you will be greeted by either Managing Director Tim Crowley, Head Winemaker Jordi Sanvicens Moreno or Vineyard Manager Andrew Smith.
After a chilled glass of La Mare Le Mourier Sparkling Wine on arrival, Tim, Jordi or Andrew will take you on a journey around the vines exploring how our wines and spirits begin life in our 20 acres of vineyards and orchards. You will learn about the different varieties we grow, our soil, maritime climate and what usually happens through a winemaker’s year.
Winery & Distillery Tour
Moving on to the winery, your expert guide will share their knowledge and passion for what makes a great Jersey wine, some of the production methods at La Mare while enjoying a tasting of our red, white and rosé wines. There will also be the opportunity to learn how we produce our refreshing Branchage Cider and how it is distilled to make Jersey Apple Brandy in our Alembic Charentais Cognac Still.
Grazing Plates & Wine in the Garden Room
Finally, you will have the opportunity to sit in our stunning Garden Room and enjoy a platter of cheeses, olives, griddled vegetables and charcuterie with half a bottle of La Mare wine of your choice.
This opportunity is perfect for aspiring winemakers, hobbyists, or for those that have a more-than-average interest in wine and how it is made.
Expect to learn a great deal about the process and equipment, along with your tasting and a few laughs along the way.
