We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering & Events Assistant Manager with excellent interpersonal, support and organisational skills to join our diverse team and help deliver the best possible experience for our estate guests.
The Catering & Events AM will support the daily running of the Vineyard café, whilst assisting the Operations Manager in the delivery of a variety of catering services and events. This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional customer service, quality assurance, and a passion for collaboration to execute the operations’ vision.
This role includes managing café bookings, stock, shift supervision, ensuring strict SOP adherence, and smooth service and operations of café and events.

Key responsibilities:
Cafe
- Support and supervise daily running of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient service with Bar and Floor leader
- Manage café bookings, and preparation for private and tourism catering events
- Maintain strict adherence to SOP of customer service, cleanliness, and presentation
- Monitor stock levels and inventories, and strict recording of wastage
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Assist with cash handling and till reconciliation
- Monitor strict compliance with Allergy Awareness practices
- Monitor consistent record keeping of relevant H&S data sheets.
Leadership
- Manage effective communication with staff and customer complaints on shift
- Foster a positive, motivated team environment.
- Pre-empt needs/preparation for service and future services
- Liaising between team and Operations Manager to ensure continuous exceeding of expectations
- Help drive sales through upselling, promotions and innovative ideas
- Good knowledge of tourism options on offer to ensure allrounder customer support
Events
- assist Operations Manager in preparation, set-up, delivery and closing of events
Skills & Experience
- Previous supervisory experience in hospitality (café, restaurant, or events).
- Strong communication, customer service and organisational skills.
- Confident supporting management and teams during busy service periods.
- Patient and collaborative, to ensure vision is executed with highest standards.
- Good understanding of food safety and licensing regulations.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting light-medium equipment.
- Strong knowledge of our products and menus
- Exercise high quality Allergy Awareness discretion and practices
