La Mare Wine Estate Achieves the AA Gold Award

We are delighted to share that La Mare Wine Estate has become the first business in the Channel Islands to receive the prestigious AA Gold Award for Visitor Attractions, achieving an outstanding score of 96% in our first-ever AA Quality Assured Visitor Attraction assessment.

Awarded only to attractions that achieve a score of 90% or above

AA Gold status is one of the highest accolades within the UK visitor attraction industry. With only around 10% of attractions reaching this standard, our score places us among the very best visitor experiences across the British Isles.

The award follows an unannounced inspection by the AA, which assessed every aspect of our visitor experience, from booking and arrival through to tours, hospitality, catering, retail, cleanliness and customer service.

We were particularly proud to receive perfect scores for our Tour & Tasting Experience, Retail Experience and Cleanliness.

The AA Inspector described La Mare Wine Estate as a “stunning vineyard and working estate” and praised the experience we offer for having “far exceeded expectations”.

While awards are always wonderful to receive, what makes this recognition particularly special is that it reflects the hard work, passion and dedication of our entire team.

From welcoming guests and leading tours to serving customers in the café, caring for our vineyards and orchards, and creating our products behind the scenes, every member of our team contributes to the experience our visitors enjoy.

Today, we are proud to be a visitor attraction, working vineyard and orchard, café, wedding venue, events destination and producer of award-winning local wines, spirits, chocolates and artisan products.

Our aim has always been to give visitors a genuine taste of Jersey, its landscape, heritage, food, drink and hospitality, all in one unique destination.

Continuing to Invest in the Visitor Experience

Over recent years, we have continued to invest in enhancing every aspect of the visitor journey.

From expanding our tours and experiences to refurbishing visitor facilities and introducing our new tractor and trailer tours around the estate, we are constantly looking for ways to make a visit to La Mare even more enjoyable.

This award provides independent recognition that those efforts are making a real difference.

Sustainability at the Heart of Everything We Do

Alongside enhancing the visitor experience, we remain committed to sustainability and responsible farming.

Recent milestones include achieving certification from the Organic Soil Association and LEAF, securing Gold Green Tourism Accreditation, becoming the first business in the Channel Islands to achieve Gold accreditation for Green Meetings, and obtaining certified organic status for our meadows and orchards.

These achievements reflect our long-term commitment to protecting and enhancing the beautiful environment we are fortunate to call home.
