First Open Air Wedding
Love is truly in the ‘open’ air at La Mare Wine Estate with one lucky couple about to tie the knot in one of the Island’s first outdoor wedding ceremonies.
Jessica Kaye and Daniel Ferguson, who are getting married on Saturday 7th July, will be amongst the first to say ‘I do’ in the Island since the Marriage and Civil Status Law was amended to allow open-air marriages in Jersey.
The new legislation has already helped increase bookings at the popular St Mary wedding venue by about 20%.
La Mare’s Managing Director Tim Crowley said: “We’re delighted that the Law has finally been amended allowing us to extend our offering to couples, we provide a perfect package with a stunning backdrop for both the ceremony and reception.
“We’ve got a fabulous venue in the heart of the Jersey countryside and have several different outdoor areas where couples can now choose to hold their ceremony.”
The law came into force on the 1st July with the first wedding taking place on the 7th.
