A piece of local chocolate heaven for guests at L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa

L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa has teamed up with Jersey’s La Mare Wine Estate to give guests a very special sweet treat at bedtime next weekend.
All guests checking in on Saturday night will find a mini bar of Black Gold chocolate on their pillows at turn down, compliments of La Mare.
The indulgent Black Gold chocolate is made to a very special recipe created by Darren Stower of La Mare Wine Estate, the only professional chocolatier on the island and La Mare’s Managing Director Tim Crowley. The exclusive confectionary is being given to guests at the AA Four Red Star beachside hotel in St Brelade to celebrate National Chocolate Week.
The tradition of leaving chocolates or mints on hotel pillows dates back to the 1950’s, a romantic tribute to Hollywood legend Cary Grant who legend has it requested chocolates in his room at the Mayfair Hotel in downtown St Louis to woo his lover.
Tim Crowley of La Mare Wine Estate said, “We’re delighted to be celebrating Chocolate Week with L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa. Black Gold is something we are really proud of, it’s made with a minimum 68% cocoa and is one of a range of chocolate bars we produce here at the Estate.”
General Manager of L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa, Simon Miller said, “Chocolate Week is all about indulging and trying out the very best chocolate. We’re really fortunate to have that right on our doorstep, La Mare’s Black Gold melts in your mouth and I’m sure our guests will be thrilled with the special turn down touch.”
